Sagar- a self-righteous and honest mill worker who leads a happy and content life with his mother (Farida Jalal), brother (Kamal) &sister-except for a fire burning within him which has grown in the years fueled by the hatred for his father (Kailashnath) & his father's three friends Rami, Goga & Harish. He has never been able to forget the sufferings caused to his family because of them being related to Kailashnath.

With the help of his three associates Kailashnath had looted poor people in the name of Navdurga Chit-Fund and had disappeared with the money leaving his children and wife behind to face the disillusioned and angry people.

Sagar is made to realize the actual present plight of the disaster of those poor people, whose lives were ruined by Navdurga Chit Fund, by his inspector friend Sdashiv who is a victim of the same circumstances. Sagar vows to clear this material as well as the moral debt of his father, by tricking and looting money from the three tricksters Goga, Romi and Harish who are now very rich men. Like fire he starts burning their riches to ashes. In this mission he is helped by Sadashiv and a street girl Titli (Rupali), who is helplessly in love with him. But this second life of his is a fact hidden from his mother who would be shattered to know of her son as a cheat and a thief.

Enter Omprakash (Mohan Joshi), a mysterious man, who always lands up in the nick of time to save Sagar from trouble & who before long becomes a good friend. But one day the truth is exposed about Sagar's father and about Sagar to his mother. How does Sagar's mother react to the shocking truth? How does the "ANGARA" in Sagar help him to become victorious in the circumstances? How does he punish the wrongdoers? What happens to Sagar's father?
